Who are Cyber Toa?
Great question! We are a cyber security company operating in Wellington, New Zealand. Cyber Toa provides tailor-made cyber security strategies and solutions that will set your organisation’s security posture beyond international standards. With over 35 years’ experience in cyber security including the intelligence and defense industry, we understand security at its core.
Who runs the courses?
Our courses are run by Dr. Elf Eldridge, Director of Training at Cyber Toa. Elf joined the Cyber Toa team in early 2018 from Victoria University of Wellington, where he was a lecturer and programme director for the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science. Outside of training, Elf spends his time at Cyber Toa as a senior cyber security consultant.

How do you run courses?
We run our courses in three different ways;
1. Live Webinars: these live webinars are great for remote teams/working, while still being able to have live dialogue with the presenter.
2. Prerecorded On Demand courses: these are designed for users to learn at their own pace, with short videos in digestible chunks.
3. In-Person: in-person courses are perfect for staff cyber security training or upskilling for a large group.
I want to run one of your courses for my staff. What should I do?
Reach out to us! We are happy to organise training for your business or organisation based on any of our pre-exisiting courses. These can come in the form of a live webinar, in-person courses, or a series of prerecorded videos.
How often do your courses run?
We run each course approximately once per month. The schedule page will have the most up to date information about when our courses are running.
For groups, if the dates online do not suit, please reach out and we may be able to organise a date which suits your organisation.
What courses do you have on demand?
At the moment we only have our Cyber Awareness Course running on demand. However, we are working to bring more courses to on-demand. If you have a request for specific courses you would like to see, please let us know!
What level are your courses suited to?
Our courses are designed with both technical and non-technical skill sets in mind. Some courses, like the Hands-On Web Application Testing are designed for people with more technical knowledge. Check the description for each course to see what the prerequisites are for each course and if you’re unsure, get in contact with us.
How long do the courses take?
The majority of our live courses are half-day courses, running between three to four hours with breaks. There are a couple of exceptions to this; the Hands-On Web Application Testing Course, which is a full day course, and the Cyber Awareness Course, which takes less than an hour as an on-demand course.
Some of your courses mention you present through ITP. What does that mean?
The IT Professionals NZ, or ITP, is a community of IT professionals who, among other work, run short courses and workshops, presented by senior practitioners and some of the best trainers in the industry. Cyber Toa has a partnership with ITP for 2 years, and we present some of our courses to their network. You can find out more about ITP here.

Great! First you’ll need to create an account, then find the course you want to take and sign up. Once paid for, the course will become available to you. If it’s an on-demand course, you will be able to access the course videos and other content. If the course is presented as a live webinar, you will receive a link ahead of time to the livestream.
